You might have noticed but I don't really like talking about myself.

Having people stuck in my memories and dreams was really uncomfortable, okay.

I would have gone with "horrific". I'm pretty sure that was the point.

You didn't die in any of yours, right?

It's probably more accurate to say I didn't finish dying in any of mine.

[He stumbled into someone else's awful death thing, though. Which was somehow even more embarrassing. Weirdest of all, though:]

Did you wind up in one of Corvo's?

I did.

Or...ours blended together, maybe. A lot of them seemed to be that way.

[Chase didn't get a ton of blended dreams or memories, that he can recall. That's interesting.]

I wound up in one of his, too. It was weird as hell actually. Not even terrible.

Not as cool as dinosaurs but not terrible.

I wonder if it's because we both knew him.

Or if it was just proximity.

Maybe both, I don't know. I did get fewer shared stuff when I stopped leaving my room at least.

Not none. Wen Ning wound up in one of mine after I holed up.

[There's a pause, and he adds,]

Then he brought me soup. With little skulls in it. That guy is weird.

Weird, but mostly harmless. At least so far.

Yeah I haven't found anything too terrible about him yet. He thinks everyone hates him by default and seems pleasantly surprised when people just tolerate him.

He mentioned being undead. Probably that gets a lot more torches and pitchforks in most places than it does here.

I guess. He's the fussiest, quietest undead I've ever heard of though. I can't see how anyone could ever be afraid of him.

[Of course he's never actually seen Wen Ning do the undead strength zombie thing, either. ... not that Chase is really afraid of much, either way, but still.]

Anyway, he doesn't scare me any. Shouldn't scare you, either, I hope.

No. He's too nice. And very awkward.

[And now Chase has hit a wall of how much he can talk about another person (that he actually likes) without saying something really dumb. He fumbles for something else to talk about, but then finally just gives up and leaves the conversation there, unless Yelena has more to say.]
